Individual entry for the U-9 Triples event
Curling Canada’s Long-Term Curler Development model identifies the LTCD stage for the Under-9 age group as ‘FUNdamentals’ and the Under-12 age group as ‘Learn to Train’. These two stages focus on fair play and development of athletes and coaches. Hit Tap Draw and Triple/Fours are the recommended competitions for these two age groups.
Triples Curling is an exciting new discipline that has been developed by Curling Canada. Curling Canada has partnered with NS Curling to Pilot this initiative in 2026. Any questions regarding this event should be directed to Jill Brothers, NS Curling Technical Director.
This will be a 1-day event, with each participant playing three 3-end games. Curlers will rotate positions each game to gain experience in different roles. When registering, please indicate if there are other curlers your child would like to play with. We will make every effort to pair them with a friend they identify.
For the event, we are seeking on-ice parent chaperones - these are not coaching roles, simply supportive chaperones. Please indicate your interest on the registration form. In addition, on-ice youth leaders will assist curlers by answering questions, helping them stay on pace, and guiding them to the right place at the right time.
We’re also excited to have a professional photographer on site who will be creating hockey-style player cards. These will be available for parents to purchase after the event.
Registration is limited to 30 curlers. Teams will be created once registration closes. This event will be played on a 1/2 sheet of ice with regulation size rocks.
